Dear PWN sibling, PWN-USA’s Trans Day of Power is almost here! Trans Day of Power was created and inaugurated last year on November 18th, 2024 (during Trans Awareness Week) as a way to uplift and celebrate the lives and contributions of trans and gender diverse leaders while they’re still here. We commissioned beautiful artwork to commemorate the day by the one and only Kineen Mafa, and celebrated the accomplishments of newly elected trans leaders throughout the U.S.
This year, the Trans and Gender Diverse Caucus of PWN is hosting a community gathering for all people who identify as trans or gender diverse and living with HIV. We’re living in a moment when trans and gender diverse people are constantly under attack and being scapegoated for the problems that the billionaire, white supremacist, capitalist ruling class created. We need each other more than ever, and we want to check in with you and just see how you doin’?
We have no agenda, no itinerary or panel of speakers. We’re creating a space just for trans and gender diverse folks living with HIV to come together, share, connect, and celebrate each other. |
TDOP How You Doin? Community Gathering Tuesday, November 18th 7 – 9pm EST |
Having a base of TGD folks living with HIV that is tightly connected by bonds of community is how we build the power to keep each other safe and create the world we deserve. So this casual celebratory event is also a radical act of resistance. We need all of you TGD siblings to join us, claim your space in our network, claim your space in our movement.
We are taking steps towards becoming the PWN we want to see where gender inclusion is concerned. It’s a journey that is never complete, a continuous commitment to growth, learning, and doing better for our TGD members, and it starts with centering TGD voices and leadership.
We need you, trans and gender diverse siblings, to decide, vision, and shape what Trans Day of Power will become in the future for our community, as well as what kind of impact PWN will have in our world. We have the opportunity to create a celebration of everything we are in all our complexity, our beauty, and our power. So join us on November 18th and let’s start building this something special, however you want it to look.
To our allies–we appreciate you and thank you in advance for honoring our need to share space with only each other on this occasion. If you don’t identify as transgender or gender diverse but you want to support Trans Day of Power, share this invitation with any trans and gender diverse folks living with HIV you know, and stay tuned for our plans for TDOP 2026! In solidarity, |
