I will be joining the protest in Brownville, Texas, June 28 for the march for immigrant families. It is wrong that the President of the United States would tear children from their mother and father. This is an outrage for mothers and fathers to see their children taken away and not know if they will ever see them again. This is heartbreaking to me as a mother to have these children go through the trauma of being apart from their parents. The damage that is being done to their children emotionally is heartbreaking.

I have friends who are immigrants with children who are terrified to let their children out of their sight. Most of my friends and family feel it is inhumanity to treat families in such a manner.

I was surprised that the media reacted quickly to let Americans know what was happening to the immigrant families and to see so many people reacting to this outrage of this administration and protesting on the families’ behalf.

My hope is that, after the protests going on around the country, these families will be reunited quickly. No child or family should have to go through this heartache and this kind of treatment from anyone.
